Value Chain Development (VCD)

The Value Chain Development (VCD) course, is a tried and tested course for VCD particitioners working on the ground in economic development programmes. Developed by MMA in 2004, it has proved a great success with over 300 participants successfully trained since its inception in October 2004.

We offer the VCD training programme in two options. The first option is an open registration course catered for a diverse group of participants from different organisations and different countries. The open registration course is a two week programme, with the first week offering intensive VCD training and the second week is dedicated to undertaking a real life case study on the field. The end of the case study culiminates with a presentation of the findings by course participants to a panel of experts. .

The second option is Tailormade VCD course which is normally a 1 week course tailored to meet specific organisational VCD needs. Over the years, MMA conducted tailormade VCD courses for organisations like SNV in Ethiopia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Ghana, OXFAM JOLIT and its partners in Tanzania, One UN Joint programme partners in Tanzania and to HIVOS partners in East Africa.
